When your kid loves the outdoors what better way to celebrate their birthday than with a hike into the woods, exploring nature? I have to say this is one of my most treasured days. My darling, as well as all the invited children had so much fun, just being themselves, and being close to nature. I captured many precious, candid pictures of each child sharing their special discoveries with their parents and having fun hanging out with their favorite folks.
This was one of those (many ; )) times where I could not have enough themed food!! Not only was it appealing and fun for the kids, it was actually quiet healthy. Cucumber caterpillar, ants, butterflies and bears on a peanut butter celery log, wild chocolate acorns, worms in dirt and chilled grape butterflies for the kids to carry on their hike.
After a lovely brunch, the kids started their hike outfitted with backpacks filled with binoculars, magnifying glasses, little bug jars, water, energy bars, and chilled grapes to make it through the hike.
They had a scavenger hunt list to find various things on their hike. It was the best part of the whole event.
The kids were thrilled to reach the top and they enjoyed the lovely view. Getting back down was a snap and the children had cake to celebrate the birthday girl and their little adventure that day.
